What Is a Self-Study Video Course?

Our Self-Study Video Courses offer a flexible and convenient way to earn CPE credits on your own schedule. These courses feature archived versions of our live webcasts, allowing you to watch and learn anytime, anywhere — at your own pace.

A Self-Study Video functions much like a YouTube video within your Western CPE account. You can start, pause, rewind, fast-forward, or stop the video as needed. Once purchased, the video remains in your account for one year from the date of purchase, after which it will expire.

Key Features of Self-Study Video Courses

1. 24/7 Access and Flexible Viewing

  • Anytime Learning: Watch your Self-Study Video whenever it fits your schedule — no live attendance required.
  • Full Control: Pause, rewind, or replay key sections at any time without worrying about losing viewing progress or credit eligibility.

2. Downloadable Course Materials

  • PDF Resources: Each Self-Study Video includes downloadable PDF course materials. You can follow along with the video, take notes, and revisit the materials anytime for future reference.

3. Qualified Assessment

  • Online Exam: Because these are classified as Self-Study Courses, you are required to pass a qualified assessment with a score of 70% or higher.
  • Credit Breakdown: Qualified assessments contain five questions per CPE credit and can be completed directly through your online account.

Are Exams Required for Self-Study Videos?

Yes. Self-Study Videos are QAS Self-Study courses, which means that completing and passing an exam is required to earn CPE credit.

You must achieve a minimum score of 70% on the qualified assessment to receive credit. The exam can be taken online through your Western CPE account at your convenience.

Why Choose a Self-Study Video Course?

Self-Study Videos are ideal for professionals who prefer to learn independently and value the ability to:

  • Earn CPE credits without attending scheduled live sessions
  • Control playback and review complex material at their own pace
  • Access high-quality instruction from industry experts anytime, anywhere
